Soul searching
I love getting away from all points of familiarity and taking off to a different plane; metaphysically, mentally, physically, emotionally - carrying away all of these aspects elsewhere is the glue that holds all these different pieces together.
Wanderlust, in short, is what keeps me sane.
I like that term 'wanderlust'. The need to explore is a basic necessity that needs to be fulfilled. Even more basic than food, water, clothes or people. Wandering is my basic nature. It helps me put things back into perspective. So long as I have my space to wander, I'm cool.
Yesterday wasn't so much about slumming it out or the wine or where I went, really. It was about allowing my mind to wander beyond everything it knew possible.
It was about regaining a logical flowchart and letting go of disruptive, destructive chaos that often threatened my very reason to be. Not that I'm a control freak. I can't control situations or people. I can, however, choose to make decisions that let me be who I truly am.
I learnt a lot yesterday. Not just about body, maturity, flavours and oak casks.
I learnt a deep lesson in human nature.
A lesson on relationships.
A lesson in destiny.
The soul search is not over yet. It was good, though, to get my groove back.
