Looking back

The futility of it all strikes us now...
When distance yawns between breaks
And closeness sleeps all week long

The absurdity of it all strikes us now...
When things said didn’t exist to begin with
And things done still haven’t happened

The triviality of it all strikes us now...
When time spent still defies reason
And time saved can never be used

The incongruity of it all strikes us now...
When misgivings no longer disturb
And warmth goes by unnoticed

The futility of it all strikes us now
When separation only brings comfort
And variance nothing but calm

Hmmm.. Have you decided that it's gonna be futile or are are you...? Because you speak about it being futile and and also say distance yawns? Or have I got you wrong?
