Blank Page
A blank page is always terrifying. There is nothing more scary than seeing a fresh page of paper, waiting for you to commit words to it. It's like staring up a mountain, knowing that your path leads you to the top. Even if you've done it before and know you can get there, there's still a pang of fear when you type your first hesitant words. Suddenly your muse dries up and you feel a bit hungry; perhaps putting things off for a little snack would help.
If you think about it, the only difference between an ameteur writer and a professional writer is that the wannabe goes for the snack. The real writer chokes on his fear, and pens rubbish. Then he gets his act together and keeps typing, till he has said all he wants to. Then, if he's a GOOD writer, he goes back and edits. Which is like climbing the mountain all over again, only facing away from it this time.
*Sigh*
The next time you want to get a snack, DON'T!
